Bose SoundDock Digital Music System

This is the Series I version.

The SoundDock system is easy to operate. Just plug it in, pop in your iPod and play. Your iPod works as long as it has a dock connector on the bottom. There are no extra wires or adapters. The included remote allows you to control your music at the push of a button. And a stylish, sophisticated look means it can blend in or be the center of attention wherever you place it.

Possible Software Upgrade Problem Here I have the Bose SoundDock Digital Music System Series II.I got it for my iPod 4, and for a while it worked. The sound is OK, though I’ve heard better from a hotel radio with an iPod dock. I have seen and heard the iPhone 4S work perfectly with the newer radio-docks you find in hotels like the Hyatts. One problem that appeared immediately when I first tried the Series II dock is that with the very thin, flexible case on the iPod, you can’t fit the iPod into the docking recess to make contact with the plug. But if you take the case off (a hassle) you can plug the iPod in and it worked fine — for a while. As others have noted, suddenly it stops working as a sound system, and maybe it’ll still charge the iPod but not play.At one point, I had my iPod plugged into my computer for a backup, and downloaded a software upgrade. I don’t recall what number upgrade. The very next time I put the iPod into this dock, an error…
